A Curated Collection from Local Artists
Your stay at The Allison will surely be enhanced by viewing our collection of fine art displayed throughout the resort and estate gardens. Featuring works from 100 local artists, our curated collection includes over 500 original pieces showcasing the best of Oregon talent. Beautifully integrated into our contemporary design and architecture, the collection encompasses our mission to create "artistic expression" in every aspect of our warm hospitality.
The Art at The Allison Collection was the vision of late owner and philanthropist Joan Austin, and has been carefully curated by her daughter, local artist and gallerist Loni Parrish. Featuring commissioned site-specific sculptures and paintings as well as works in a multitude of media by established and up-and-coming Oregon artists, it is the perfect reflection of the family's history and appreciation for supporting the arts in Oregon.
Standout pieces include trestle-style private dining tables made from a single slab of black walnut designed and built by son Ken Austin, "Slackwater Terroir" (soil in polymer medium) by Oregon State University Associate Head of the Dept. of Crop and Soil Science Jay Noller, and "Timeless Flight" (fused glass/ steel/cherry branches) by world-renowned fused glass artist Gil Reynolds. No less than three pieces of original art are featured in each of the accommodations. Guests may peruse the entire collection in our catalogue The Art at The Allison, available in-room or for purchase at the Retail Boutique.
